Since we are all members of a global community, it is important to understand how the English language is viewed as an International language. Every individual communicates through language. Believe it or not: non-native speakers of English greatly outnumber native speakers! There are many Englishes spoken around the world. This blog will allow us to explore varieties of Englishes as well as our own.

Blogging Feeds from Bloglines
While adding feeds onto my bloglines account, I came across a great feed from Blog-EFL. I particularly found it interesting to listen to a talk from Nik Peachey about Teaching English in a Second Life. It takes a little bit for him to really get into talking about the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of English language learners and the use of internet resources. Therefore, I suggest skipping into about a little less quarter of the entire speech. The feed is wonderful because it gives a great outline of the speech to read before, during, and after Nik Peachey's talk. This is helpful, because Nik tends to get a little off topic a few times. Check it out, and let me know what you think!

Nik Peachey is a fantastic blogger who is always very generous in sharing what is on the cutting edge of technology for teaching ESL/EFL.
ReplyDeleteFor this mod, Ellen, you need to link to the post where you found the link to Peachey's talk, not tothe blog itself. Please edit your post.
Thanks,
Dr. Burgos
I found the post of my RSS feed, so do I post that on there? Otherwise I'm a bit confused, because I posted my RSS feed of where I found the post, and to be sure I also posted the blog from where it came from.
